Breaking Wave No. 1
Montgomery Infirmary Blues
Very excited to announce that the 250 limited edition copies of The Breaking Wave have now arrived, and here’s number 1 visiting the author in hospital.
I have been in Newtown hospital for 4 weeks, and I’m still hoping to get somewhere closer to home. I’m here - the books are at home. So the process of numbering and packaging up is somewhat clunky. But the dedicated staff at Peter & Jane Books will shortly be beginning the process of sending out the pre-orders. So from next week, if you press “pre-order” on my website, you are essentially ordering, and the book shouldn’t take long to reach you (Royal Mail permitting).
Apart from 2 nights in mid-July, I have now been in hospital for 2 months, first in Hereford and now in Newtown. The doctors, nurses and physiotherapists feel I’ve made real progress, and that I should be ready to go home in time for the ticketed event in Presteigne’s Assembly Rooms on 21st September. If you would like to come to this event, please get your ticket here. Books and CDs will be available!
I’ve missed the summer. I’ve missed the housemartins at the Old Grammarye. I’ve missed my study and my desk and my friends and going to Elda’s and being with my family. But I’m buggered if I’m missing the publication of The Breaking Wave.
One more thing. At the moment, there are only 250 copies of The Breaking Wave. Normally, I would object to people lending my books to one another. But in this case, please do! Just remember that if you do lend it to someone, not to lend them the dustwrapper by Julian Dicken, or remember to take it off first and keep it safe!
Keep your eyes open for the mass-market paperback and e-book editions which should be appearing sometime next year.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

Fantastic news, Ian. Looking forward to reading it. Heal well and get home soon. X
It must be a great feeling to hold the first copy! Congratulations. I think and hope I have already pre-ordered one. The launch is in my calendar. Love and yet more stoicism to you. Incidentally you were thought of fondly as we celebrated Chas on Monday in Glasson. xxx
