that caravan would be where chrissie rented? another chas connection now linked in my memories.
you like to stick the bathos up 'em, don'tya?!
i am a veteran of wiping the arse of a mate - i did a month of it when we were covid lockdowned in chefchaouen: a month full-time was enough, i have to say....that, and that the first time is always the hardest. we'll be back in morocco this winter, this time in our van with the elderly dogs.
i know the stats on how many get out of a hospice alive, so i feel blessed and honoured to have been at your last gig - a triumph i thought: you, sir, are a trooper - i laughed and i cried.
Great story. But hey, I know Sunnyside Lane. Not a million miles from where I lived in Hubert Place. I wonder if your caravan was as cold as my house? And did it have mice, too?
i remember that little caravan with fondness Ian and the house you were in previously , and the records ( it was the first time i had seen The Blossom Toes albums ) i am half way into the new one and enthralled by it - thinking of you my dear old friend and i would like to think you encouraged me to do a little bit of writing over the years ( mainly for music mags ) but one day i hope that book is going to fall out of me x
Didn't realise you were in a hospice Ian! I messaged you a couple of years ago on Instagram to say how fantastic One Fine Day was and you kindly sent me a signed postcard of the front cover. I have in a frame in our hallway. I'll be thinking of you Ian and of all the many, many hours of pleasure your books have given me! Keep fighting big man!! X
May all of our hospice bumwipes be so joyful! xx I *THINK* Waterloo Bridge was the one Lancaster Green @ction and assorted radicals blockaded for quite some time on either an anti-loans or anti-Poll Tax demo. A proud moment, but not quite in the same league.
Keep writing my friend - I wish I had your talent for expressing my thoughts and feelings. If you are up for a visit please send me a message - prayers said for you and yours. K
